SN Kansagra Schoolthe largest school of The GalaxyEducation System is housed in the outskirts of thecity. It is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School CertificateExaminations, New Delhi and prepares itsstudents for the ICSE Year (Year 10) and the ISC (Year12) Examinations. It alsoprepares students for the IGCSE, AS Level and the A Level Examination.
It admits students at the age of six and a half years in class 1 from one ofthe preparatory schools. In the primary school the basic skills of reading,writing and arithmetic form the foundations of learning. Through encouragementand constant practice, these are given the closest attention through theSustained Silent Reading Program, Writing Workshop Program and Math WorkshopProgram.
The class size of24 students to a class enables us to provide close attention to the progress ofeach child and know them individually.
The Primary School(Classes 1 to 4) and the Middle School (Class 5 to 8) at SN Kansagra follow acurriculum developed in-house which leads to the preparation for the publicexams. The curriculum is characterized by a wide range of exciting academic,co-curricular and community activities which are aimed at providing thestudents with opportunities to learn in a holistic way. English, Gujarati,Hindi are the main languages taught. Apart from the languages, mathematics,science and social studies, art, craft, computer skills, drama and music aretaught to develop an aesthetic sense as well as technological understanding inthe middle schools.
As a child progresses through the school, the amount of specialized teachingincreases steadily, with subject specialists in all departments. The studentsare offered a range of subjects to suit their need for college education inpreparation for the public exams at the end of Year 10 and Year 12.
English, a Second language and History, Civics and Geography are the mandatorysubjects offered for the ICSE. Students select three other subjects from a listof 18 other subjects which include subjects which lead students to take upfurther education in science or the commerce stream.
For the ISC Examination the students offer English and three, four or fiveother subjects from a list of 28 subjects which include Mathematics, Physics,Chemistry, Biology as their main subjects for the Science stream and Accounts,Commerce, Economics and Business Mathematics for the commerce stream andLiterature in English, Sociology and Psychology for the Arts stream.
