Introduction

TGES offers a wide range of Boards namely IBO, CIE, IGCSE, ICSE, and GSEB. Parents are required to select the Board of choice and fill the application form. We offer admission throughout the year. Admission is granted on the basis of a student’s performance in the DPA (Diagnostic Placement Assessment).

Admission Process

Eligibility

Students seeking admission must meet the Academic requirements set by TGES. We also need to ascertain whether we will be able to meet any special needs of the student (including physical challenge/s, learning challenge/s, and development of English-language skills), before admission is granted.

Applicants are required to submit a Birth Certificate and a Report Card from their previous school. A letter of reference from the forwarding school would be favorable, though not mandatory.

Capacity

Each year in May, the Managing Trustee, after receiving a recommendation from the School Administration, will come to a decision about the number of students that may be accommodated in each class in the following year. However this decision is solely at the discretion of the management.

English Language Proficiency for admission to and continuation at TGES:

To ensure that TGES students can satisfy the Academic requirements, TGES has established minimum levels of English and Mathematics proficiency for students. New or continuing students must attain appropriate levels of English and Mathematics proficiency for placement in the next Grade level.

Age requirement

For admission into JumpStart (Play House) the minimum age requirement of the child must be between 2.5 years to 3.5 years on or before June 1 of that academic year. In all cases, the final decision regarding admission and placement rests with the TGES Management.

Dress Code

There is a specially designed school uniform. The information about the purchase of the same can be obtained from the school administration office.

Non-Discriminatory Policy

The Galaxy Education System does not discriminate among its students on the basis of Race, Color, National or Ethnic Origin, Religion or Gender.

Calendar

The TGES School Year has around 225 Student -Teacher contact days. A customary school calendar runs from mid-June through the end of April in the following year. National holidays/ festivals/ special days are observed as holidays and the school has two vacations – Diwali Vacation and Summer Vacation.

What are the documents required for admission?

The following documents are required to confirm admission:

3”x5” family photograph (PreK onwards for all grade levels) .
Original Birth Certificate of the child with the child’s name (PreK onwards for all grade levels).
Photocopy of the Birth Certificate (PreK onwards for all grade levels).
Previous School Leaving/Transfer Certificate in original (for grade 1 onwards)

Is it possible to transfer my child to a different board within TGES?

Yes, Inter School/Board transfer is possible provided there is a vacancy and the child fulfills the academic requirements for that unit.

Do I have to apply for Re-Admission into Grade One?

Your child will automatically be given Admission into Grade One in the same School and Board. You do not need to re-apply for Admission.

Is there an increase in tuition fees every year?

Fee decisions are guided by the Fee Regulatory Committee and all schools under TGES follow fees as prescribed by FRC.

Other than tuition fees, what are the additional costs that I will have to bear during the Academic year?

The Tuition Fees is inclusive of all paper stationery (Textbooks and notebooks) as per the standard requirement for that level. There is no additional cost other than the Tuition Fees. The charges for Educational Trips, Competitive exams like Olympiad and Asset are exclusive of the tuition fees for any grade levels.

Does the Tuition Fee include Uniform Costs, Transportation Charges and Canteen Charges?

No, Uniform Costs, Transportation Charges and Canteen Charges are not included in the fees. Uniforms have to be bought by the parents from the authorized suppliers identified by the school.

We encourage the students to bring healthy snacks from home. A canteen facility is available to the students where the students can buy healthy snacks in case they are unable to bring the same from home.

TGES offers a door to door Transport facility at an additional cost. The Transport facility is available to the students who reside in the prescribed route and is subject to the availability of a seat in the bus for that route.

Can you tell me something about Sports and other Co-Curricular Activities that the school offers?

TGES has a fully equipped Sports Centre at the University Road campus as well as Sports Facilities in each campus where students are encouraged to play all the Seasonal Games on offer according to the Academic calendar. Additional and Specialized sports’ training is available in the evenings between 5:00-8:00pm and open to all students at an additional cost.

Co-Curricular Activities like Debates, Recitations, Dance, Drama, Music, External Competitive Exams, etc. are an on-going occurrence throughout the school year.

Do I get the campus of my choice for my child?

The allocation of the campus will depend on a number of variables. The allocation of campus will be at the sole and absolute discretion of the Management.
